The study is, therefore, divided into two main parts: The theoretical part: which surveys different contributions, perspectives and existing theories which sought to understand the phenomena related to organization. The focus is on the works of scholars of sociology, psychology and management, and their views which contributed to the development of this variable from a merely abstract concept to one of the main concepts within organization. The fact is that many of the main contributions originate in the West and not in the Arab world. This was carried out through analyzing a set of theories of organization which dealt with this subject and which attracted wide attention from intellectuals and researchers in different disciplines according to their different conceptual frameworks. Because of the role of the previous studies and empirical research works in shaping the different parts of the present study, we ordered them according to a particular methodology. Field Work: This part attempts to match the theoretical aspect of the study to its practical part through investigating the status of time management in the Algerian company shedding light on its principle dimensions: planning and organizing time, controlling time wasters in the Port Company, skikda. Then collecting data and classifying it in statistical tables and commenting, analyzing and representing some of the findings graphically. The field study was carried out following the methodological approaches and tools used in empirical research. The study took place in the Port Company Skikda. Methodologically, the study employed the descriptive approach using a stratified random sample making use of a set of data collecting tools , notably: observation, interviews, and a questionnaire. This latter is divided into different tracks according to the research hypotheses. Objectives of the Study: The study seeks to achieve some theoretical and field objectives. The Theoretical Objectives: -Ordering and organizing existing literature pertinent to time management.-Knowing the main elements and components of time management in light of the literature written by various researchers in the fields of organization, management and other disciplines. -Understanding the methodological and epistemological basis of the main theories and approaches related to time management in order to fix field dimensions for its measurement. -Attempting to put a virtual sample to explain the nature of the relationship between the different dimensions and indices of time management in the modern company. Field Objectives: In its practical part, the present study aims at: -Diagnosing the reality of time management in the modern company. -Knowing the main scientific methods adopted by the workers in planning work time in modern companies -Understanding the ways of organizing and distributing activities within the work’s time framework. -Knowing the different time wasters facing workers in modern company. -Determining the different mechanisms employed by the workers to reduce wasted time. -Determining the structural and functional of the main concepts of the topic— time management. The Study’s Main Questions: The study is based on one central question : What is the level of interest in time management in the contemporary company ? In order to tackle this question empirically , three procedural hypotheses were developed: - There is a good mastery of time planning methods among the workers in modern company. - There is a great dependence on the methods of time management among the workers of the modern company. - There is a high awareness among the human resources of the modern company about the need to eliminate time wasters. In order to investigate the role of socio-demographic variables in crystallizing the manifestations of the time management variable, another hypothesis was formulated: - There are statistically-significant differences due to the demographic variables as regard to the interest in time management among the workers of the modern company. Findings of the Study: This study comes out with the following findings: 1. There is a high level of time planning among workers of the Port Company in Skikda. 2. There is a great deal of reliance on the time-management mechanisms among the workers at the Port Company ,Skikda. 3 - There is an average level of awareness among workers of the Port Company in Skikda of the importance of avoiding time wasters. 4 - There are no statistically significant differences due to gender and age variables at the time planning level as well as its organization among workers of the Port Company in Skikda. 5 - There are differences of statistical significance attributed to the educational level regarding time planning as well as in the level of time management among the workers of the Port Company in Skikda. 6- There are no statistically significant differences due to the variable of civil status at the level of time planning. 7 - There are differences of statistical significance due to the variable of the civil status in the level of time management among the workers of the Port Company in Skikda. 8 - There are no statistically significant differences due to the functional variables (seniority at work, job position, place of residence) in the level of time planning and organization among workers of the Port Company in Skikda, except for differences of statistical significance due to the variable of place of residence in the time management level. 9 - There are differences of statistical significance attributed to gender and age variables at the level of avoidance of time wasters between the workers of the Port Company in Skikda. 10- There are no statistically significant differences at the level of avoidance of time wasters among workers of the port Company in Skikda dueto educational level and civil status. 11. There are no statistically significant differences due to demographic variables (seniority at work, job position) at the level of avoidance of time wasters among workers of the port Company of Skikda. 12 - There are differences of statistical significance due to the variable of place of residence at the level of avoiding time wasters between the workers of the Port Company in Skikda. Through these findings, the study presented a number of core issues upon which further studies can draw, in terms of the degree of dependence onobjectives and priorities, knowledge of the content of tasks and activities, time allocation, time wasters and the use of technological means to save time, avoid unproductive activities. It is worth mentioning that the results of this study remain relative and in need of a further research on the topic . Hence, the general framework of the study is part of the knowledge accumulation in the field of organization and management and the different contexts within the contemporary Algerian company.otherإدارة الوقت داخل المؤسسات الجزائريةالمؤسسة المينائية بسكيكدة أنموذجاThesis
