dc.description.abstractLiquid waste from food and other factories is usually loaded with colored particles, which are the most toxic. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the ability of sawdust as an adsorbent to remove the cationic dye methylene blue. The treatment method proposed in this work is based on the adsorption process using of sawdust, which is available locally. We studied the adsorption capacity of sawdust under the influence of various factors such as the mass of the absorbent material, the mixing speed and the initial concentration. The results showed that equilibrium was reached after the first 20 minutes. The equilibrium models were determined according to the Langmuir and Freundlich models, where satisfactory results are shown with high absorption rates with an average of 86% and 97
