Abstract
he use of inhibitors is one of the most common methods to protect metals against corrosion. However, most of these inhibitors are toxic or carcinogenic and harmful to the environment. Several researchers have been interested in finding new ways of inhibiting corrosion based on more environmentally friendly plant extracts for the protection of metals. This work describes here a study that we have developed in the field of inhibition of corrosion of steel in two acidic environments hydrochloric acid "HCl" and sodium chloride "NaCl" by inhibitor derived from extract of the plant mint. We used the mass loss (Δm) and the corrosion speed [Vc "Corrosion rate"] with the inhibitory efficiency (EI%) as a function of time. The results obtained in the HCl and in the NaCl medium show a decrease in the corrosion speed in the presence of inhibitor for all hours and at different mass of inhi
