Abstract
Given the importance of education in preserving the identity of individuals
and cultural and social communities, as a result of their preservation of this
identity across successive generations, and because the teacher is one of the
transmitters of this education to them through the school as an educational and
educational institution, our choice came to research the contemporary practice of
Algerian teacher for education or not. We chose the learners from the stage of
adolescence, as it is a transitional stage between the stages of childhood and
youth, during which the adolescent knows a set of physical, mental,
psychological, mental, and emotional changes that have an impact on what his
personality will be in the future, and how he sees life and the values he adopts.
The contemporary teacher builds these values for adolescents or not. Hence, we
chose this topic that is tagged with “What is the nature of the role played by the
Teacher in Developing Values for High School Students”.
In order to research and investigate the subject of this study, we put the
following main question: What is the role of the teacher in developing values for
High school students? The following questions were derived from it:
1- What is the nature of the role played by the teacher in developing social
values for High school students?
6
2- What is the nature of the role played by the teacher in developing
religious values for High school students?
3- What is the nature of the role played by the teacher in developing the
intellectual values of High school students?
To verify these questions, we formulated the following hypotheses:
The main hypothesis: The teacher has appositive role in developing values
among High school students.
Partial Hypotheses:
1- The teacher has a positive role in developing social values for High
school students, and we tested the values of: kinship ties, family appreciation,
and respect.
2- The teacher has a positive role in developing religious values for High
school students, and we tested them in the values of: prayer, hijab, and belief in
God.
3- The teacher has a positive role in developing intellectual values for High
school students, and we tested the values of creativity, criticism, and problem
solving.
We used the descriptive approach, questionnaire and observation tools to
verify the validity of the hypotheses or not, and this study reached the following
results:
1- The teacher has a negative role in developing social values among High
school students.
2- The teacher has a negative role in developing religious values for High
school students.
3- The teacher has a negative role in developing the intellectual values of
High school students.
Therefore, the teacher has a negative role in developing the values of High
school students.
