    Pumps & Pumping Stations Courses
(Faculty of Sciences, 2024) HEBAL , Aziz
Pumps are devices that generate a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet pipes. Depending on the conditions of use, these machines communicate potential energy (by increasing the downstream pressure) or kinetic energy to the fluid by setting the fluid in motion. Thus, we may want to increase the flow rate (increase in kinetic energy) and/or increase the pressure (increase in potential energy) for gaseous, liquid, viscous, very viscous fluids, etc. That's why the variety of pumps is so great.
