Item Oxidation Damage Analysis of Ferritic Alloy Steel Heater Tubes in Catalytic Reforming Unit(International Journal of Heat and Technology.Vol. 42, No. 2, pp. 390-398, 2024-04-30) ; Zennir Youcef ; Bounezour Hichem ;Reformer heater tubes operate in a complex environment involving high temperatures, pressure, and corrosive atmospheres. Depending on the operating conditions, several mechanisms can occur, such as creep, oxidation, high-temperature hydrogen attack, and carburization. This paper aims to evaluate the degradation degree of catalytic reformer heater tubes made of ferritic alloy-steel A 335 grade P22 based on a combination of inspection techniques, including visual inspection, microstructure observation, metallographic analysis, and mechanical properties testing. The results show severe oxidation and scaling occurring on the outer surface of the heater tube due to operating the tubes above recommended levels. Several recommendations are suggested to reduce the risk of thermal oxidation and prevent similar damages from reoccurring in the future.Item Risk assessment of Atmospheric Column Overhead Product Drum(ALGERIAN JOURNAL OF SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS (AJSS).Vol. 9, Issue 4, December-2024.p-p 248-254, 2024-12-31) Zennir Youcef; Bounezour HichemThe risk analysis plays an important role in the risk management process. Its objective is to identify significant adverse consequences, then assess their severity in order to decide on measures to control the risk. Our study involves conducting a risk analysis related to an un-stabilized naphtha separator ball from the Topping unit located at the Skikda refinery. We applied the HAZOP approach to identify accident scenarios that could be generated by this hazardous equipment. The modeling of the consequences of the chosen phenomenon, which is the BLEVE, was carried out using the PHAST software.Item Safety Integrity Evaluation of Crude Oil heater .According to IEC 61508 Standard(ALGERIAN JOURNAL OF SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS (AJSS).Vol. 7, Issue 2.pp 84-93, 2022-06-01) ; Zennir Youcef ; Bounezour Hichem; The main object of this paper is to evaluate safety barriers intervening against overpressure implemented on a crude oil heater using layers of protection analysis approach suggested in IEC 61508 (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard for the determination of safety requirements are illustrated. Accident scenarios are pre-identified using Hazard an Operability approach, Fault tree approach is required for an effective risk assessment process. In order to better appreciate accident scenarios, P (Process Hazard Analysis Software Tool) is utilized to simulate them.
